The Grove - Light sensor v1.1 integrates the LS06-S phototransistor to detect the intensity of light. Linear analog output conforming to illuminance Low dark current and low working lux.

Differing from the last version, the Grove - Light Sensor (P) v1.1 uses the LS06-S phototransistor as a replacement for the traditional Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensors. The LS06-S light sensor has a much more linear analog output conforming to illuminance, which ranges from 0 to the supplying voltage (normally 5V). A value equal to the supplying voltage can be detected when it’s exposed to daylight, and it gives 0V when you covered it with your hand.

This module can be used to build a light-controlled switch i.e. switch off lights during day time and switch on lights during nighttime.

Highlighted Features

  • Good spectrum characteristic: Built-in optical filter for a spectral response similar to that of the human eye.
  • High reliability and fast response: Based on the LS06-S photoresistor, a high-sensitive and reliable photodiode that can quickly detect the intensity of light in the environment.
  • Stabilized output: linear analog output conforming to illuminance
  • High Sensitivity: Low dark current and low working lux
  • Grove unified socket: The sensor ensures "Plug and Play" and could be versatile for various applications.

Applications

  • light-operated switch
  • Indoor light control electronic toys
  • Light control lamp
  • Photoelectric control
  • Industrial control
  • Camera automatic photometry
  • Alarm
